No, this is not what the system is designed for.

Uploading all information as files makes delivering consistent quality information difficult, time consuming and error prone.

O&M (Operating & Maintenance) information comes in many formats, but is usually a combination of information prepared using word processing tools, spreadsheets and pdf files. This data is unstructured making it harder to manage and share information.

As an example an O&M created using document files (e.g. docx, .xlsx) doesn't contain information required rule sets, validation tools and automated checking. It also doesn't allow the data in the document files to be 'shared' or 'synced' with other documents. Data is 'locked' into files and duplicated in many file formats.

Springboard provides online template forms for O&M manuals improving quality and productivity. Benefits include:

  • The form templates contain pre-filled information and drop down pick lists to save time on data entry, improve consistency and reduce input error.
  • Input data directly by typing information in directly, cutting and pasting, importing spreadsheets, importing data from models.
  • In-build validation tools enable you to check content is correct as you go, reducing checking and commenting.
  • Input once, output many - Automatic data sync so that data entered into a single form is shared with other forms e.g. data in equipment schedules auto populate the asset registers, risk registers, planned preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Built in export tools - all information can be exported from one single source to word processing (.docx) and spreadsheets (.xlsx) and models (.ifc). Springboard automatically index, hyperlinks and paginates ready for conversion to pdf formats.
  • Audit trail thread - Springboard stores every save and change event to enable a full audit trail to be maintained. This includes all commenting and review histories.
  • Metadata - data and information on the classifying characteristics are maintained.
