02. Import COBie - Set Up

COBie excel files can be imported to create schedules from the System, Type and Component tabs, so that data can be edited, validated and exported into other formats such as asset registers, CAFM exports and O&M manual equipment and materials schedules. It also provides the ability to push data back into Revit models.

 

Set up

It is assumed that site/project has been set up and a document created with the correct level of security. Contact the system administrator if this is not the case.

Within the document you will need add 3 No levels of forms

  • Level 1 > System Branch
  • Level 2 > System Heading
  • Level 3 > Summary Schedule

 

Navigate to the document editor page.

In the document select the Document Name, right click and select Add > Blank Form to create a hierarchical table of contents.

To create the Level 1 hierarchy form, on the left hand table of contents menu:-

  • Right click on the Document Name and select Add > Blank form 
  • Select the System Branch form and add to the table of contents following the steps below.

Next add Level 2 hierarchy Form.

  1. Right click on the "System Branch" and select Add > Blank form 
  2. Select "System" form and edit the title as required.
  3. Select "Add" to create and add to the Table of Contents.

Finally, create the Level 3 hierarchy form

  1. Right click on the System" and select Add > Blank form 
  2. Select "Schedule" form and edit the title as required.
  3. Select "Add" to create and add to the Table of Contents.

This completes the set up and allows the COBie data to be imported.
