Understanding The Dashboard

The project dashboard provides the user with an overview of the status of all project information.

Fig 01 - Dashboard - Project Overview

The top navigation bar is always in view and enables navigation between Sites, Projects and Documents.

Below this is a series of tabs (configurable) that provides detailed reports on status and delivery of information for the whole project. This also includes user performance and forecasting.

Key metrics are displayed on the main project page which can be downloaded to a spreadsheet format.

Key Dates

  • Forecast completion - the calculated information completion date based on performance to date
  • Planned completion - the set planned date for completion of the information
  • Project start - the date that the information collation process was commenced

Content & Process Report

  • Process % - The number of workflow progress steps that the information has progressed through
  • Content % -  The number of workflow content steps that the information has progressed through
  • Systems % - The number of systems that are fully complete (content and process)
  • AIR % (if enabled) Asset Information Requirements - The amount of asset data completed and validated

How is Content & Process calculated?

Workflow steps are configured and linked to each document type.

Each workflow step is given a duration (days) and a start and end date, which is monitored against the progress dates of each system/section as detailed in Documents Report help section.

Each section of the documents must pass through a process and content step. As sections are progressed the % increase and actual dates are recorded against forecast dates.

Content - Input information i.e. Schedule Description, Operations, Maintenance, Equipment and Materials

Process – The steps that all information takes, can include steps like Info Required, Authoring, Tier Reviews, Author Updates, Construction Record.

Fig 02 – Workflow Configuration

Fig 02 shows 4 steps are ticked under Report Content % column, each step is 25%, if there were 5 steps ticked they would each be worth 20%. The same principle applies to Process.

The aim is to get the content to 100%:

  • When a step is moved from Info Required to Authoring a score of 25% completion is given
  • Once the author has provided their information the step is moved into Tier 1 Review and completion of 50% is given
  • When Tier 1 Reviews are complete and any updates take place 75% completion is given
  • Upon entering Tier 2 Updates the information will be given 100% completion
